Alexander Kay, MSW, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. He earned his Master’s in Social Work from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL, clinical program. Alexander has been working in the field of acute mental illness and addiction for the past ten years, specializing in dual diagnoses and crisis stabilization, utilizing various modalities of psycho-therapy, such as Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapies (CBT and DBT) in his clinical practice. He has been practicing and teaching Mindfulness Mediation, as a component of DBT, and assisting clients with developing compassion and self-compassion. After serving for over 5 years at the Institute for Mental Health at St. Mary’s Medical Center (psych unit) in a capacity of Intake Specialist, Baker Act Coordinator, Discharge Planner and Mental Health Therapist, Alexander transitioned to Grassroots Treatment to fulfill a role of Primary Therapist. Alexander is extremely passionate about assisting clients on their way to recovery, with compassion and a full body of contemporary research.
